METOCHEM RR-5 is an aqueous inhibited acidic mixture, soluble in varying proportions with water.  It is a very effective for derusting and descaling of iron & steel surfaces at room temperature.  It has very good penetrating power to disintegrate and dissolve rust, Heat Treatment scales, light machine oils, greases, lubricants etc. by dipping process.  

APPLICATIONS:  

Although METOCHEM RR-5 is an excellent remover of rust, scale, oil and light grease, usually heavy soil contamination should be removed first soaking in kerosene or swabbing with a cloth soaked in kerosene. Similarly surfaces having extremely heavy rust formation should be removed mechanically or by means of wire brush during dipping method.

I.                DIPPING METHOD: 

The following parameters should be followed depending on soil contamination, cycle time, etc.  Actual parameters should be set after conducting initial trials.

        v/v = volume by volume;  R.T. = Room Temperature (25°C+) 

EQUIPMENT : 

Plastic or FRP lined M.S. tanks/containers should be used.   Heating of the bath is not required.   

After derusting the parts in METOCHEM RR-5, water rinsing must be carried out.  Parts can then be processed further for phosphating or they should be dried immediately and RUST PREVENTIVE  should be applied by brush or cloth if parts are to be preserved or stored.   If further derusting, descaling or acid pickling is to be done after METOCHEM RR-5 then parts may be dipped directly in derusting bath without washing in between. 

PRECAUTIONS:

   1)   Use Rubber/PVC gloves while handling with this solution.

   2)   If METOCHEM RR-5 is splashed on skin or eyes wash off with plenty of water.

METOCHEM RR-3 (Non-corrosive, inhibited acidic cleaner for ferrous & non-ferrous metals)
METOCHEM-RR-3 is intended for removal of heavy duty rust alongwith traces of oil from ferrous metal surfaces. It is recommended for application on automobile assemblies or parts, tractor parts, aircraft surfaces, steel furnitures, ammunition boxes, Defence components and various other ferrous and non-ferrous parts. It conforms to Defence specification DEF-37, as a Rust Remover. It is widely used on aluminium and galvanised surfaces to clean and restore original shine and lustre to the surface.

METOCHEM RR-B

(For Degreasing & Derusting at Low Temperature)

METOCHEM RR-B is an aqueous inhibited acidic mixture, soluble  in varying proportions with water.  It is a very effective degreaser cum deruster for iron & steel surfaces at low temperature.  It has very good penetrating power to disintegrate and dissolve, machine oils, light greases,  lubricants as well as rust or scales; either be dipping process or by swabbing.

APPLICATIONS:  

Although METOCHEM RR-B is an excellent remover of light grease and oil, usually heavy soil contamination should be removed first either in kerosene or by manually wiping off with a cloth soaked in METOCHEM RR-B solution.  Similarly surfaces having  extremely heavy rust formation should be removed  mechanically or by  means of wire brush during dipping method.

Please note that time temperature and concentration are interdependent on each other, thus set the parameters accordingly.

EQUIPMENT : 

Plastic or FRP lined M.S. tanks/containers should be used.  Where heating of the bath is required then Teflon coated electric immersion heater should be used or external heating can be employed, but care should be taken that temperature does not exceed 45°C.

II.              SWABBING/BRUSHING

Concentration:-          For heavy contamination       :           1:1 or 1:2 with water

                                                For medium contamination    :           1:3 or 1:4 with water

                                                For light contamination          :           1:5 or 1:6 with water

METOCHEM RR

  METOCHEM RR is an aqueous inhibited acidic mixture, soluble in varying proportions with water.  It is a very effective deruster for iron & steel surfaces at room temperature.  It has very good penetrating power to disintegrate and dissolve, rust or scales; either by dipping process or by swabbing.  It can be used very effectively in ultrasonic equipments, tumblers, agitators for cleaning and /or derusting.
APPLICATIONS:                                                        Although METOCHEM RR is an excellent remover of rust, surfaces having extremely heavy scales or rust formation should be removed mechanically or by means of wire brush during dipping  method.
I)         DIPPING METHOD:

Concentration:

a)               For heavy contamination mix 1 part METOCHEM RR with 1 part water by volume.

b)               For medium contamination  - 1 part METOCHEM RRwith 2 parts water by volume.

c)               For light contamination        - 1 part METOCHEM RR with 3 - 5 parts water by volume.      .

Prepare solution of METOCHEM RR with water by volume as per above concentration in a Plastic tank/container.  Simply dip the contaminated parts in the solution for 10 – 30 minutes at room temperature till the parts are completely clean.  After dipping in METOCHEM RR the parts should be rinsed with water and can be processed further for phosphating or they should be passivated in 0.05% solution of WS SEALANT -1 with water at 60 - 70°C for 1 – 2 minutes and then air dried immediately by compressed air.

II)              SWABBING/BRUSHING:
Concentration :   For heavy contamination              -           1 : 1 or 1 : 2 with water.

                              For medium contamination          -           1 : 3 or 1 : 4 with water.

                              For light contamination                -           1 : 5 or 1 : 6 with water.
