METOCHEM RR-4 (Non-corrosive Inhibited Acidic cleaner) DESCRIPTION : METOCHEM RR-4 is an acidic liquid chemical consisting of surfactants, dispersants and corrosion inhibitors. It is widely used for removal of soils, oils, cutting fluids, lubricants, rust etc. from ferrous as well as non-ferrous metal surfaces. METOCHEM RR-4 is easily soluble in water at all proportions and is very safe to use as it does not contain any chlorinated solvents, phenols, chromates, nitrites or cresols. METOCHEM RR-4 can be used by wipe, immersion, spray or swab in various types of cleaning equipments such as immersion or agitated tanks, ultrasonic or vapour cleaners etc. Since METOCHEM RR-4 contains corrosion inhibitors, it cleans & protects simultaneously. Hot Water rinsing is required after cleaning. USES : 1) For pre-paint treatment of aircraft surfaces like wing sections, fuselages, as well as automobiles and tractor assemblies 2) For degreasing and cleaning of ferrous parts and components prior to phosphating, painting etc. 3) For cleaning of multi-metal assemblies. 4) For removal of various contaminants such as oils, grease, rust etc. from painted as well as nonpainted surfaces. 5) For cleaning of Iron castings.

Metochem BLK is a dark brown liquid which when applied on rusty metallic structures particularly iron & steel surfaces, converts the rust into black protective coating. Even the best paints cannot give full protection if they are applied on steel surface which is not entirely free from rust. Durability of the paint film depends as much upon the quality of the surface to be treated as upon the quality of the paint.

Various rust removing methods such as sand blasting, flame cleaning, wire brushing, grinding by abrasives are not only expensive and tedious but time consuming. Moreover they expose the base metal again to corrosion and rust may reappear even before the primer coating is applied.
