Metochem SS-101 is a highly acidic composition with inhibitors and penetrants used for cleaning and brightening of Stainless Steel and for derusting of black steel sheet metal. However, it can also be used on iron castings for removal of scales and rust, efficiently.

Its applications are as follows:
Wipe Method: For immediate and efficient cleaning and etching of Stainless Steel, Metochem SS-101 is directly applied by brush or rag on the surface using PVC or rubber gloves on hand andnecessary protection to eyes and apron should be provided. As soon as the surface is cleaned, it should be washed thoroughly with water.

Soak Application: Metochem SS-101 is diluted with equal amount of water in PVC lined vessel or plastic container and stainless steel parts are dipped in the solution and allowed to soak for 10 to 20 minutes or more depending upon the metal surface to be cleaned. Iron castings are also treated in the same way. Necessary safety precautions should be taken as indicated under wipe method.

After derusting, the parts are washed with plain water and then passivated with water containing 1-2% of Metochem Sealant by dipping for about 5 minutes. Then blow air immediately or wipe it dry.

METOCHEM-PLS is a metal cleaner consisting of surface active agents, emulsifiers, foam suppresants and anti-corrosive additives. It is a clear homogenous liquid which can be used directly or diluted with Water, Kerosene, and Petroleum Solvents. When diluted with water from 1-30%, it gives a stable milky emulsion. It removes greasy residues, oils, dirt, dust, and soils very effectively. It does not contain alkalies, acids, phenolic compounds or toxic solvents, it is neutral to pH and hence it is extremely safe to use. It is non-dangerous, non toxic and non-corrosive. It is suitable for ferrous as well as non-ferrous metals, sheets, parts, or components. USES: 1) For cleaning of castings, engine blocks, components and assemblies in single stage or multi stage spray washing machines. 2) Dip degreasing of components prior to phosphating, blackodising, plating or general purpose cleaning. 3) For cleaning ferrous and non-ferrous parts and components in ultrasonic machines. 4) For cleaning industrial floors, rigs, offshore platforms, ship floors and under body cleaning of cars, buses, railways in maintenance workshops by high pressure jetting. 5) For cleaning exterior bodies of cars, buses, trains, aircrafts etc. by wiping or spraying.
